Chromatica Overview
Chromatica was one of those games you'd find tucked away on a Flash portal in the late 2000s. It didn't have a big name behind it, but it had a distinct look with its clean, metallic tiles and sharp color blocks that stood out from the more cartoonish puzzle games of the time.
You control a cursor that picks up and drops colored geometric shapes onto a grid. The goal is to form lines of four or more matching shapes, which then vanish. The real tension comes from the constant stream of new pieces descending from the top; you're always managing that incoming queue while searching for the best placement. Making longer lines, like six or seven, creates special power-up pieces, such as bombs that clear clusters. The pace is steady but demanding, with the grid filling up faster than you expect. It feels like a race against a quiet, methodical clock.
