Bush Rampage Overview
Bush Rampage was one of those games you'd find buried on a Flash portal in the mid-2000s. It belonged to a wave of simple, satirical action games that popped up during that era, often with a political edge. I remember it being made by a developer called Jmtb02, though the details are a bit fuzzy now. The premise was straightforward and intentionally absurd.
You control a large, cartoonish monster truck, the Tilty Truck, from a side view. The goal is to drive from left to right across a cityscape, causing as much destruction as possible. You press left and right to drive, building up speed to smash through barricades and groups of stick-figure soldiers. The truck has a tendency to flip over, so you frequently hit the spacebar to right it and keep moving. The pace is frantic. You're constantly managing your momentum, dodging tank fire, and trying to stay upright while plowing through everything in your path. It feels chaotic and silly, a brief, cathartic burst of controlled mayhem.
