Break Out Overview
Break Out was one of those games you'd find on a Flash portal in the early 2000s. It wasn't complicated, just a straightforward action puzzle game where you had to get a character out of a prison. The goal was simple, but getting there took some thinking.
You control a prisoner with the W, A, S, D keys, moving from room to room. The main objective is to escape by reaching the exit, but guards and searchlights block your path. You can use costumes scattered around the levels to temporarily disguise yourself, fooling the guards. The spotlights require careful timing; you have to wait for their beam to swing away before darting past. The pacing is methodical, more about planning your route than quick reflexes. It feels like a quiet, tense puzzle where one wrong move sends you back to the start.
