Black Knight Overview
Black Knight was one of those games you'd find buried in the Flash portals of the early 2000s. It didn't have the polish of a big studio release, but it had a certain straightforward charm that kept you clicking. You were just a knight, and your job was to collect coins from peasants.
You control the knight with your mouse, moving him left and right across the bottom of the screen. Your main objective is to gather a set amount of gold before time runs out. Peasants walk along platforms above you, dropping coins that you must catch. The challenge comes from avoiding their projectiles, like rocks or other objects they throw down at you. Sometimes you can use a ladder to climb up and collect coins more directly, but that puts you closer to the danger. The pacing is quick, and the difficulty ramps up as peasants move faster and throw more frequently. It feels like a simple, persistent scramble against a ticking clock.
