Ant City Overview
Ant City was one of those strange, simple games that felt typical of the Flash era. You'd find it on a website among dozens of others, a quick distraction with a single, clear premise. It didn't need a complicated story or detailed graphics to make its point.
You control a magnifying glass, moving your cursor to direct a focused beam of sunlight onto the ground. Your goal is to burn everything in the ant colony. You scorch worker ants as they walk in lines, ignite structures like anthills and tunnels, and watch the fire spread to nearby objects. The game is fast and unforgiving; if you let the queen ant escape her burning nest, you fail. The mechanics are purely about aiming and timing your burns for maximum chaos. Playing it feels like conducting a destructive, miniature experiment, watching orderly systems dissolve into smoke.
