Ambulance Rush Overview
Ambulance Rush was one of those simple, physics-based driving games that felt typical of the Flash era. You would find it on a gaming portal, load it in your browser, and within seconds be trying to navigate a wobbly ambulance across rough ground. It didn't need a complicated story or high-end graphics; the challenge was in the handling.
You control the ambulance from a side view, using the arrow keys to accelerate and brake. The vehicle has a distinct, top-heavy sway, so every bump and incline threatens to tip it over. Your main goal is straightforward: drive from the starting point to the hospital entrance at the end of the stage. Along the way, you must manage your speed to avoid flipping on hills and carefully steer around obstacles like rocks or pits. The game moves quickly from one short level to the next, each introducing slightly more treacherous terrain. It feels like a constant, jostling battle to keep four wheels on the ground while racing against your own momentum.
