Achilles Overview
Achilles was one of those straightforward action games you'd find during the Flash era, a time when a browser could become an arcade. It came out in 2005, developed by a creator known as Pyro. The game didn't try to be anything more than a quick, satisfying brawler set against a backdrop of Greek myth.
You control Achilles himself, moving him left and right across a single plane to confront waves of soldiers. Your main goal is simply to survive each stage, clearing all enemies to progress. You have a basic sword attack and a more powerful spin move that hits everyone around you, which becomes essential when you're surrounded. The pacing is relentless; enemies spawn continuously, and the difficulty ramps up quickly as you face archers, shielded hoplites, and eventually mythical creatures. It feels like a constant, hectic scramble for survival where one mistake can end your run.
