Legend of Dynamic Goushouden: Houkai no Rondo is a Japanese role-playing game for the Game Boy Advance. Its narrative begins with two modern teenagers, a boy and a girl named by the player, who are transported to a fantasy world after receiving a mysterious letter.
This world is inhabited by numerous characters created by manga artist Go Nagai. Early encounters include figures like Devilman's Akira and Cutey Honey. A key narrative choice occurs here, as the player selects which of these two to follow, determining the primary protagonist while the other teenager departs with the remaining character.
The gameplay involves standard genre elements such as exploration on a world map, turn-based combat, and party management. A distinctive mechanic is the Assort System, which structures the party into active combatants, known as Battlers, and supportive Partners who provide enhancements but cannot fight directly.
Both of the game's branching story paths converge on the same major events, leading to a final confrontation that determines the fate of this strange world. Other famous Nagai creations, such as Mazinger Z and Susa no Oh, also appear throughout the adventure.
