Driver 2 Advance Overview
Driver 2 Advance is a Game Boy Advance adaptation of the earlier console title, reworking its core for the handheld. The player assumes the role of undercover officer Tanner, investigating a murder that connects criminal organizations in Chicago and Rio de Janeiro. These two cities, simplified from the original's four, form the game's open-world environments.
Mission objectives in the primary Undercover mode are varied, requiring the player to navigate to destinations, pursue or ram vehicles, perform covert surveillance, and handle deliveries. The cities are presented in a 3D texture-mapped style, with cars and people represented as sprites. A separate Take A Ride mode allows for unrestricted exploration of both urban settings.
Beyond the story campaign, the package includes several additional modes. A set of five mini-games, carried over from the PlayStation version, focus on specific driving challenges like evasion and precision. Link cable support enables multiplayer for up to four players, featuring exclusive competitive races and team-based survival scenarios.
