Black Matrix Zero is a strategy RPG where turn based combat unfolds on an isometric grid. Players position party units and engage enemies within attack or spell range.
The setting features a world divided among angels with white wings, demons with black wings, and wingless humans, locked in a prolonged conflict. The protagonist is Cain, a boy living in servitude to a woman named Matia on a remote island. This isolation is shattered when forces from both sides target Matia, leading to her abduction and drawing Cain into the wider war to rescue her.
Gameplay is primarily composed of these tactical battles, with narrative developments presented in story sequences between encounters.
