Woman On Top was one of those simple, single-screen games that felt typical of the Flash era. You'd find it on a casual gaming site, load it in a browser, and be playing within seconds. The premise was straightforward and presented without much ceremony.
You control a small, pixelated man who runs back and forth along the bottom of the screen. A woman stands on a platform above, and your goal is to reach her by jumping onto a series of moving clouds. The clouds drift horizontally at different speeds, so timing your leaps is everything. You use the arrow keys to run and jump, trying to land squarely on each cloud without falling through the gaps. The pace is quick, and a missed jump sends you tumbling to the bottom, forcing you to start the climb over. It feels like a test of persistent, slightly frantic coordination.
