Viridia Overview
Viridia was one of those games you'd find in the late 2000s, tucked away on a Flash game portal. It didn't have a big studio name attached, just a simple title screen and a start button. You loaded it up in a browser window, and that was it. The era was full of games like this, small experiments in platforming and puzzle design that lived and died by word of mouth.
You control a small, blocky character, navigating a series of single-screen rooms. Your goal is straightforward: collect all the green points scattered in a level to unlock the exit door. Movement is basic, using the arrow keys to run and jump. The challenge comes from the placement of hazards, like stationary spikes or moving enemies, which force you to plan your route. The pacing is quick, with most levels designed to be solved in under a minute, but a mistimed jump sends you back to the start. It feels like a focused test of precision and timing, where every action has an immediate consequence.
