The Space Hunter Overview
You control a small ship, moving it with the mouse across a starry backdrop. Your tool is a fishing line, which you use to catch the alien creatures drifting by. You click to cast the line, hook a target, and then reel it in. The main objective is to capture as many aliens as possible, with different types likely being worth different scores. The mechanics are built around that rhythm of casting and reeling, with the challenge coming from managing the line's tension and perhaps avoiding certain enemies. The pacing is steady, and it can become quite difficult as the screen gets more crowded. It feels like a peculiar, slightly janky blend of deep-sea fishing and arcade shooting, all wrapped in a very basic visual package.
