Power Play Overview
Power Play was one of those simple, direct games you'd find in the early days of Flash. It captured the feel of arcade hockey without much fuss, a quick distraction you could load in a browser. The game didn't try to be a simulation; it was about the immediate action.
You control a single player on the ice, skating left and right with the arrow keys. Your job is to get the puck and shoot it into the opposing net using the spacebar. The main objective is straightforward: outscore the computer opponent across three periods. Beyond just scoring goals, you can initiate fights by checking the other player, which temporarily knocks them out and gives you an open net. The pacing is fast, and the difficulty comes from the opponent's aggressive defense and your own need to time checks and shots. It feels like a stripped-down version of hockey where every shove and slapshot matters.
