Flying Fish Overview
Flying Fish was one of those simple Flash games you'd find on a gaming portal in the mid-2000s. It didn't have a complex story or elaborate graphics. It was just there, a quick distraction during a study break or a slow afternoon. I don't recall the exact year or who made it, but it fit right in with that era of straightforward, browser-based play.
You control a small fish named Fred. Your mouse moves him around the screen, and you need to guide him to collect pearls. Each pearl adds to an energy meter at the bottom. Once the meter is full, you click the mouse button to make Fred leap out of the water and fly for a moment. The goal is to use these short flights to navigate through a series of obstacle courses, reaching a finish pipe in each level. You dodge things like spinning blades and static barriers. The pacing is steady, but the levels get tighter, demanding more precise timing for your jumps. It feels like a test of patience and rhythm, a quiet challenge against the clock and your own coordination.
