Figure Skating Overview
Figure Skating was one of those simple, early Flash games you'd find on a casual site. It came out around 2003, a time when a browser could suddenly become a tiny arcade. You didn't need to download anything; you just clicked and started skating.
You control a single skater on a small, circular rink. With the mouse, you guide their path, tracing shapes to perform jumps and spins. The main goal is to chain these moves into a routine before the timer runs out, aiming for a high score. You click to launch into a jump, then quickly draw a loop or a line to complete the spin. The timing is tight. If you hesitate, the skater stumbles. The game moves at a brisk pace, demanding quick reflexes for the more complex sequences. It feels precise and a little frantic, like balancing on a thin edge.
