Epic Battle Fantasy 2 Overview
Epic Battle Fantasy 2 was a game I played a lot during the Flash era. It came out in 2009, made by Matt Roszak. Back then, it was just one of many RPGs you could find on a browser, but it had a clear style that made it stand out. The art was bright and a little silly, with characters that looked like they came from an anime. It never took itself too seriously, which was part of its charm.
You control a party of heroes, moving them through a world map to find battles. The moment-to-moment play is all turn-based combat. You select attacks, spells, or items from a menu, targeting groups of enemies or single targets. A couple of recognizable mechanics are the limit break style special moves and the way you can capture monsters to use their skills later. The main objective is straightforward: fight through the areas, beat the bosses, and see the story through. The pacing is steady, with a difficulty that starts simple but asks you to think about your strategy in later fights. It feels like a condensed version of a bigger RPG, built for short, satisfying play sessions.
