Beauchamp - Boogie Bash Overview
Beauchamp Boogie Bash was one of those Flash games you'd find tucked away on a casual gaming site. It came out during the peak of that era, when simple, single-screen games were common. The title screen had a cheerful, cartoonish look, with a character named Beauchamp ready to lead the dance.
You control a small, stylized dancer on the left side of the screen. A teacher, or sometimes a mirror image of your character, performs a sequence of dance moves on the right. Your job is to replicate those moves as they appear. This usually involves pressing corresponding arrow keys or colored buttons that flash on the screen in time with the music. The sequences start short and manageable, but they gradually lengthen and speed up. The main objective is to complete as many dance routines as you can without making too many mistakes, which ends the song. The pacing is brisk, and missing a few cues in a row will trip you up. It feels like a straightforward rhythm challenge, where keeping up with the cheerful, looping tune is the whole point.
